Integrative Psychiatry in Inglewood
The meaning of : SISU
SISU is a Finnish word meaning resilience, courage, and determination in the face of life’s hardest challenges. For me, it is more than a word — it’s a way of living that carried me through my own trials. In my work, I invite others to discover their own SISU: the strength that emerges when we lean into healing, face pain with honesty, and uncover the beauty that rises within us. Because healing is not just possible — it is a path we can walk together.
At SISU Behavioral Health, we offer Integrative Psychiatry in Inglewood, California. Come see us, and begin finding your strength today.

Stories from the Inside Out
“Healing begins with seeing ourselves clearly.”
Every Reel is a window into the moments that shape us — snapshots of life that reveal who we are becoming. Some capture tenderness and quiet joy, while others carry the weight of struggle and growth. Yet all of them are connected by one truth: they are honest. They tell the real story of our journey, unpolished, unfiltered, and deeply human.
Just as these Reels open a window, our new blog will open a door to deeper reflections and healing stories. Coming soon!

About Jaana
Who Am I?
I am Dr. Jaana Salonsaari, a triple-board-certified psychiatrist and therapist. Yet before credentials, I am a daughter, a mother, and a seeker who has walked through seasons of loss and renewal. These experiences shape the way I practice. My care model is simple yet deeply personal: story-integrated, strengths-based, and always tailored to the individual. I believe healing is never one-size-fits-all — it begins with listening to the whole of who you are. Through integrative psychiatry in Inglewood, I bring this philosophy of care to each patient I serve.

What I Offer
I walk alongside people navigating complex healing journeys:
- Grief and trauma
- ADHD and neurodiversity
- Aging and life transitions
- The invisible weight of depression and anxiety
- Stories of resilience in the face of chronic challenges
Every session is grounded in the belief that your story matters, and that strength can be found even in the hardest chapters.

What’s Coming Up at SISU Behavioral Health
Jaana will soon release a profoundly personal Reel filmed in a Finnish graveyard. Carrying four white lilies, she moves quietly among the resting places of her parents and brothers, reflecting on lives cut short and the fragile gift of time. The piece concludes with a powerful reminder — to live with love, kindness, and courage, because tomorrow is never promised.
Looking ahead to October, Jaana is collaborating with @healingwithhorsestobago on a unique Reel that explores the healing bond between people and horses. In addition, SISU Behavioral Health will be introducing a new blog section on the website, offering deeper insights, personal stories, and reflections on healing and self-actualization.
“Dr. Salonsaari doesn’t just treat symptoms—she listens with her whole heart. For the first time, I felt truly seen, not just as a patient but as a person with a story. Her thoughtful, integrative approach helped me find both strength and peace in the middle of my struggles. I’m deeply grateful for her care.”
